Latrasse,
Creative Duo

Above all, Latrasse was born from ten years of friendship, mountain adventures and shared creative projects.

From the summit of the Matterhorn to the famous Japanese powder snow, via the Himalayan peaks or the Svalbard glaciers, we draw our inspiration from our love of nature and from our individual and collective experiences.

Follow our traces and come discover our world.

Artistic Philosophy

In the mountains, a trace is born from the encounter between snow, skis and creative inspiration. That is Latrasse.

Each trace is unique, elusive. Each trace is a flash of genius. Each trace is a second suspended in the air. Each trace is deeply human. Each trace is beautiful because it is imperfect. Each trace belongs to mother nature, we can only admire it and borrow it for a minute.

We are never looking for perfection, but rather for the authenticity of the instant and our humanity in the midst of it.

Creative Process

Our unique creative process begins with a mise en abyme where the snow becomes our canvas, our skis become brushes and our movements become works of art.

Based on a desire, an intuition or an inspiration, one of us suggests a path of reflection and imagination from which the soul of the future trace is born.

This is followed by a collaborative phase of exchange and creation in order to choose the colors, the skis to use and the type of movement that will be at the heart of the trace.

Finally, in a single shot with two or four hands, we bring the canvas and our vision to life. No fine tuning or modification is possible then: the trace is the trace.

Please note: winter and summer, we never create indoors, Latrasse finds its inspiration in the natural environment and each art piece is created right on the ground.

Our Values

By design, our approach is resolutely human, natural, sustainable and deeply rooted in today's world.

Concretely, each artwork comes from a common vision and a shared creative process, which we bring to life outdoors in contact with nature, never in a studio.

Each piece is created with used skis to which we want to give a second life rather than seeing them abandoned for newer models.

Finally for each painting sold, we systematically donate 10% of the selling price to nature preservation organizations. Because the trace of our skis is the only one we should be allowed to leave on the mountain.
